DECEMBER 13TH 2001

Chris's UK fans will be aware of the release of Handbags and Gladrags by Welsh rockers, The Stereophonics. The record has entered the charts at No.4 and is tipped as a future No.1! Lots of people mistakenly think that Rod Stewart had the original hit - no mention of Chris!

We need to correct this misapprehension and get Chris's version some airtime. BBC Radio 2 have been playing the Stereophonics version a lot lately and it is only right that Chris's version gets a few outings as well. To this end we are suggesting that fans might like to email radio stations, tell them about Chris and request that they play his version. To get you started, here are some email addresses for the main shows on BBC Radio 2 (www.bbc.co.uk/radio2):

wogan@bbc.co.uk - weekdays breakfast show

ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk - weekdays mid-morning show
